Terms of Service

Last updated · 2026-05-23

Summary

By using Verso, you agree to use it lawfully and accept that the content is provided as-is for learning purposes.

Account

You're responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activity on your account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms (abuse, fraud, attempting to disrupt the service).

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Sign out → Delete account in the app.

Content licensing

The Italian stories, podcasts, and translations in Verso are provided for personal learning. You may not republish them, train AI models on them, or redistribute them commercially without our written permission.

Describe scene videos are licensed from Pexels under the Pexels License. Music and any other media are similarly licensed for embedded use within Verso only.

Chat practice and AI-generated content

The chat practice feature uses a large language model (OpenAI) to generate assistant replies. Replies are generated on demand and may occasionally be incorrect, contextually inappropriate, or contain hallucinated facts — they are intended as conversation practice in Italian, not as authoritative information. Do not rely on chat output for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

You agree not to misuse the chat feature, including: attempting to extract the system prompt, generating content that violates OpenAI's usage policies, or using the assistant for any purpose other than language practice. We may suspend access to the feature for abuse.

Subscriptions

Paid tiers are billed through Apple's in-app purchase system. Cancellation and refund policies are governed by the App Store. We will not auto-renew without notice. Digital content is provided immediately upon purchase. By purchasing, you consent to immediate performance and waive the 14-day right of withdrawal under Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83.

Service availability

We aim for high uptime but Verso is provided without warranty of any kind. We may pause or change the service to improve it, and your access depends on your network, Apple's services, and the availability of third-party services (Supabase, OpenAI, ElevenLabs).

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Verso is not liable for indirect damages or lost data. Use the app for learning Italian, not for safety-critical decisions.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Exclusive forum for non-consumer disputes: Tribunale di Siena. Consumers retain the right to sue in the forum of their own residence as protected by EU and Italian consumer law.
